The mamalates complete Pilates program is designed to specifically guide women through pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. Your physical regimen should reflect the way your body is shifting and changing. It is best to begin Pilates when you are considering conception. Then, once you are pregnant you are already strong and connected to your core. This makes it easier to stay fit and recover postpartum. In all classes we use resistance bands and other props for increased benefits.
Wendy Foster is the director of mamalates and the master trainer for Wendy Foster

all mamalates certification programs. She is an internationally Certi-
fied Pilates Instructor, Pilates Educator and EMT. She has been teaching Pilates since 1999 and practicing yoga for over 18 years.
She has a love for being physical and has been both a ski instructor and a rock climbing enthusiast.
Wendy is certified through the Cener for women's fitness as a prenatal/postpartum Pilates Specialist www.thecenterforwomensfitness.com/
Wendy has trained Pilates instructors in Oregon, Idaho and Utah and has been a presenter at the OHSU Center for Women’s Health Annual Conference. She has developed specialty workshops for other Pilates professionals including: Pilates and Small Props, Pilates on the Ball and Pilates for Skiers.
Wendy practiced Pilates throughout both of her pregnancies--having an unplanned Cesarean in 2004 and a VBAC in 2006. From her own healing experience through Pilates, she developed mamalates and has dedicated her practice to working exclusively with prenatal and postpartum women. She enjoys helping other women to safely reconnect with a sometimes unfamiliar body during pregnancy and postpartum.
In Pilates classes and private sessions, Wendy integrates a variety of movement techniques to
facilitate the physical and emotional journey of pregnancy and postpartum. Her teaching style is dynamic, incorporating yoga poses, mind-body centering techniques, breath work and strength training. She believes that the first step to physical freedom is to develop awareness of holding
patterns and areas where your body may be "stuck" or misaligned. Feeling connected and strong in your body will help you be more grounded and present with your family.

As a doula and childbirth educator she recognizes the joys and the difficulties of the unique transformation that women go through during pregnancy, birth and beyond. A pregnant body is an ever-changing body. Katherine enjoys helping women to connect with their bodies, feel their strength, and gain confidence in their body's abilities. Facilitating is at the core of her teaching. She strongly believes that Pilates is a practice of becoming mindful of your body and the way you move in it. With this awareness, you can then begin to build lasting strength in your core, improving your posture and increasing your overall strength and flexibility which will serve you in all facets of life.
